Join NORRA at the Curt LeDuc Swap Meet!

Agua Dulce, CALIF. – The Curt LeDuc Swap Meet this coming Saturday, and Sunday Oct. 10-11 at the Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella, Ca. is a combination treasure hunt, a day at the museum, and a chance to see old friends. It will be held on the grass covered soccer fields of the casino, so bring the kids. There will be food vendors including ice cream, and the casino restraint is open. The weather prediction looks to be a pleasant 80 degrees during the day.

The Spotlight 29 venue allows plenty of space for social distancing; wear your masks too if you like. The swap meet has treasures from enthusiast’s garages, overstock from manufacturers that can be had at bargain prices, and slightly used race parts from many teams who replace them on a regular basis. If you are building a vintage vehicle, the swap meet is one of the few places where vintage parts, and cars can be found. If you’d like to race NORRA in a period correct race vehicle, a stop at the swap meet is a must. You never know what will turn up.

ATM’s are present on the property so when the deal of the century presents itself, you’ll be ready. The swap meet vendors usually have parts and accessories for Jeeps, UTV’s 4x4’s, prerunners, race cars, toys, collectables, and much more. NORRA will have a booth set up with food and drinks while they last, and we look forward to visiting with friends new and old. Mike Pearlman will be there to answer any questions about our events, and there are icons, and celebrities in and out of the booth all day. Also with a booth this year will be Racer’s for Christ where “Chappy” will be holding a fund raiser. Stop in and say hello to Chaplain Steve Hanson. Click here for the fundraiser form

In addition to being a social happening, Curt LeDuc’s swap meet is an important event for those who find, restore, and race historical vehicles with NORRA. There are many who work tirelessly to bring these cars and trucks back out of retirement like Rory Ward, Jeff Furrier, Darren Necessary, Dana Dague; the list is a long one, and we appreciate them all. Some racers dust off their own cars to join in the fun. Of course, NORRA has classes for darn near anything that rolls on wheels including motorcycles, UTV’s, cars, trucks, even RV’s. (I’m not kidding), go to www.norra.com and check it out. We also have the safari class for street legal vehicles that tours Baja with the race. It is led by none other than Off Road Motorsports Hall of Famer Curt LeDuc. You can see why we look forward to the LeDuc Swap Meet every year. Make sure you plan to attend. Hours of operation are Saturday 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Sunday is early; 5:00am to 10:00 or 11:00 am. Don’t miss it!

"I am packing for the Curt LeDuc Swap meet this weekend, bringing my 3 truck bedsides and the BFG tire sign. Willing to bring the vintage tires and wheels of the collection if there is interest in them message me."

ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.

Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970's.

NORRA enjoys corporate partnerships with Yokohama Tire, Method Race Wheels, South Point Hotel & Casino, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, STEEL-IT, RIGID, Multitool USA, Satellite Phone Store.com, Biltwell, Cerveceria Transpeninsular, PCI Race Radios, The Fab School, Schampa, K&N, Baja Bush Pilots, Mag7 Pits, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), B3KREATIV, and many more.
