Agua Dulce, CALIF. – "The Happiest Race On Earth!" is quickly approaching, and the official schedule of events is now published on our website at www.norra.com. There were many obstacles presented to NORRA, our sponsors, the many people who work tirelessly to make the event happen, and you the racers this past year, and it’s finally going to pay off.

The Northern loop course is as challenging as it is beautiful; traveling to places we don’t typically get to see. Old acquaintances will be renewed, and new friendships will be created during 5 days of competition that will take you south past Bay of LA, and from the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Cortés.

Days one, and two (April 23rd, 24th) will be for COVID screening, registration, Bilstein tech inspection, contingency, Stella installation, etc. Team leaders need to log into their NORRA account where they made the entry and select the tech/check-in button to schedule the appointment. This should be done ASAP. In order to be admitted to Horsepower Ranch for contingency, you must show a vaccination card or negative test results from the previous 72 hours. All others will be tested on site. There will be food and drinks available at the Rigid Industries Welcome Fiesta. (take-out food option will be available).

All teams must submit a Stella registration from. Your credit card will not be charged unless you don't return the tracking unit before the deadline.

Sunday April 25th competitors will take the start in Santo Tomas. The bikes stage at 5:30am and leave the line at 6:00am. The cars stage at 9:00am, and leave at 9:30am. Teams will take the checkered flag on day one at the Volcon finish line at El Dorado Ranch in San Felipe. There will be cold Transpeninsular beer, food, and drinks. Seating will be limited, but there is a take-out option available.

During the next 4 days of racing, finish line food and drink will be sponsored by the following companies. Monday night will be Slime. Tuesday it will be STEEL-IT. Wednesday’s festivities will be courtesy of Bilstein, and Thursday night it will be thanks to our friend Michael Gaughan at South Point. Of course the specially brewed for NORRA Cerveza Clara from Transpeninsular will be flowing every night!

On Friday, we find out the results. Unofficial results will be posted at 10:00 am, then the Inquiry, and incident review period takes place until noon. At 2:00pm official results will be known, and trophy pick-up at Cerveceria Transpeninsular will run until 8:00pm. The trophies can be picked up in the large parking area behind the restaurant. There will be podiums set up to take pictures with your entire team. The brewery restaurant will be open for food and beverages, but it will not be a NORRA event, and we urge everyone to move through the area to prevent large crowds from gathering.

In addition to the hand sculpted NORRA trophies, there will be contingency awards, and prizes awarded by Yokohama, Slime, K&N, Multi-tool, NiteRider, Optima battery, and others. Bilstein will be awarding their prestigious Madonna award. The coveted Bilstein Madonna trophy is recognized around the world as one of the most prestigious honors a race driver can achieve. Off Road racing champions such as Ivan "Ironman" Stewart, Mark McMillin, and Mark Stahl, have all been past recipients of the Madonna. Both McMillin and Stahl have earned Madonna’s in the early days of off road racing, and in the modern era, while competing in the Mexican 1000 rally. Your name could be alongside theirs on this special trophy.

ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.

Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970's.

NORRA enjoys corporate partnerships with Yokohama Tire, Method Race Wheels, South Point Hotel & Casino, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, RIGID, STEEL-IT, Volcon, Slime, Optima Batteries, K&N, Satellite Phone Store.com, Biltwell, PCI Race Radios, Schampa, Nite Rider Offroad, Multitool USA, Stage V Media, B3KREATIV, Mag7 Pits, The Fab School, Cerveceria Transpeninsular, Horsepower Ranch, Baja Bush Pilots, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), and many more.
