Since 1974, STEEL-IT® Brand Coatings, a line of chemically-engineered, high performance anticorrosion coatings, have provided extraordinary performance in numerous applications across diverse industries including: Architecture & Construction; Food Processing; Automotive; Powersports/Motorsports; Aerospace; and countless DIY projects. For over 5 years, STEEL-IT Polyurethane coating has become the choice of leading motorsports / Powersports builders and race teams who value the coating’s superior performance, protecting suspensions, chassis, and other metal parts that require a proven, durable shield against corrosion, high speed impact from rocks, and other objects that batter their vehicles while competing on some of the world’s most punishing race courses. Moreover, STEEL-IT’s weldability is a signature benefit that saves racing teams hours of repair time. Instead of having to strip parts back to bare metal, STEEL-IT’s special stainless steel content allows you to weld directly on it providing a huge time savings over any other coating.

STEEL-IT Brand Coatings achieve their superior level of performance by combining an abundance of custom-engineered 316L stainless steel micro-flakes with various resins, including polyurethane and epoxy. When sprayed, brushed, or rolled on, these flakes align horizontally to form a densely packed barrier of pure stainless steel. This stainless steel shield makes materials coated with STEEL-IT nearly impervious to corrosion and corrosive elements while providing a durable finish that resists scratching and flaking even under the most challenging conditions.

Those of you that are unable to attend the NORRA Mexican 1000 will be able to follow along through the efforts of STEEL-IT covering the race. You will unfortunately miss out on the day’s tales, good times, and great food at the STEEL-IT finish line celebration. For some it’s not about who finishes first, but rather who has the most fun at the stops along the way. For the latest information on the race, and the latest news, go to www.norra.com.

ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.

Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970's.

NORRA enjoys corporate partnerships with Yokohama Tire, Method Race Wheels, South Point Hotel & Casino, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, RIGID, STEEL-IT, Volcon, Slime, Optima Batteries, K&N, Satellite Phone Store.com, Biltwell, PCI Race Radios, Schampa, Nite Rider Offroad, Multitool USA, Stage V Media, B3KREATIV, Mag7 Pits, The Fab School, Cerveceria Transpeninsular, Horsepower Ranch, Baja Bush Pilots, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), and many more.
