April 5, 2017. (Agua Dulce, Calif.): The 50th anniversary NORRA Awards Celebration will be held at Club de Playa Campestre. The beach front club is very close to all of the resorts in San Jose del Cabo and only a short taxi ride away from the hotels everyone has stayed at in the past. A private club, this will be an exclusive event for NORRA starting at 7 pm and running until midnight. Produced by the local Baja Event Company and Alejandra Niguyen, the evening will include live music, fireworks, and delicious food from one of San Jose's most renowned chef and restaurant owner Casianos Reyes.

NORRA's post Mexican 1000 Driver's Awards parties have been a legendary tradition since the sport's earliest days. Navigating the length of the Baja Peninsula on your motorcycle, in your ATV, vintage race vehicle, or modern race car, demands some celebration. The post-race festivities provide a moment to relax and rejoice with new friends and old, and a chance to bask in the accolades you have earned. Don’t miss it!

The resort has a maximum number of guests allowed, so we urge everyone to buy tickets from the online registration page. We cannot guarantee that tickets will be available in San Jose Del Cabo. Make sure you pre-purchase non-competitor party wristbands for friends, family and crew. Note that driver and co-driver wristbands already include party admission.

ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, four-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern desert Rally Raid cars, pre-runner trucks, buggies and motorcycles.

Pearlman's late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970's.

The 2016 NORRA Mexican 1000 was supported by Multi-Tool USA, Method Race Wheels, Azunia Tequila, Walker Evans Racing, South Point Hotel Casino, Bilstein Shock Absorbers and Mastercraft/Impact Safety.
