URGENT! A NORRA MEXICAN 1000 RALLY ALERT!

April 14, 2017. (Agua Dulce, Calif.): CHASE TRUCKS AND TRAILERS! THIS IS AN EFFORT TO GET US ALL ACROSS THE BORDER QUICKLY. WE APPRECIATE YOUR PARTICIPATION. This information needs to be provided to customs by Sunday at 5 p.m. It is in your best interest to make sure your information is included.

The Customs Department has asked us to provide vehicle information regarding team vehicles crossing the border. It is a last minute request as we have so many teams that will be attempting to cross the border at the same time. We do not capture this information during registration as it does not pertain to your entry.

We have added a link to the NORRA registration page to add 'non-race' vehicles. This may be the truck and trailer being used to transport your race car. This may be your chase truck(s). If it is carrying race related equipment - add it.

Drivers and Co-Drivers: You should have a NORRA account that you used for registration. Log into it. For Chase and Crew that do not have accounts - create one. The first line item that you will see says 'Mexican Customs'. YOU ONLY NEED TO KNOW THE YEAR/MAKE/MODEL/LICENSE PLATE OF YOUR TRUCK AND TRAILER. Once you added your trucks and trailers - YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE FORM. REGISTER YOUR VEHICLES FOR BORDER CROSSING

ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, four-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern desert Rally Raid cars, pre-runner trucks, buggies and motorcycles.

Pearlman's late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970's.

The 2016 NORRA Mexican 1000 was supported by Multi-Tool USA, Method Race Wheels, Azunia Tequila, Walker Evans Racing, South Point Hotel Casino, Bilstein Shock Absorbers and Mastercraft/Impact Safety.
