2021 NORRA 500 Pre-Registration Opens July 1 at Noon
-- "First In, First Out!" --

Agua Dulce, CALIF. – In order to start laying the ground work for the 2021 NORRA 500 we need to know who’s coming to the party. We are asking teams to go to the website starting on July 1st, and begin the preregistration process. Credit cards will not be charged until August 1st. Race dates are Oct. 7th, through the 10th. Keep in mind also that we have a “First in, First out” policy for day one of the rally. Those who get signed up first, get to start first in their class.

At the Mexican 1000 we administered over 550 covid tests to those in attendance. As many of you know, the entire planet is suffering through supply chain issues, and we want to make sure we have all the PPE, and delicious Transpeninsular beer! to make it “The Happiest Race On Earth!”. We cannot predict what the covid protocols will be by then, but it’s important that we are prepared should the need arise, and by signing up early, we can get an accurate count. Don’t delay; get your entry in as soon after July 1st as you can. Thanks for your help, and we look forward to seeing everyone who loves the speed, fun, delicious food, and wine from Baja wine country, and the wonderful camaraderie found at NORRA.

NORRA recommends you load only one day at a time to your GPS device.

At the NORRA 500, the people, and the cars from every era of off road racing compete alongside each other. The event draws current racing stars, icons of the past, and regular Joes all competing, and socializing together. The unique format captures everything there is to love about Mexico. That’s why it’s called “The Happiest Race On Earth!”. The format consists of 2 simultaneous 250 mile courses per day. One is exclusively for bikes and the other for cars. On day 2, they switch courses. Bikes, and 4-wheeled vehicles race separately so both groups can compete safely. The routes include the infamous pine forest, the beach, and the desert. No other racing event pays tribute to the history of off road racing while also providing the memories and camp fire stories that will be told by future generations.

The NORRA 500’s unique format is intended to reduce complicated planning and logistics, and create an event that racers can easily manage. It is a loop race that starts, and ends at the famous Horsepower Ranch outside Ensenada. Each evening the NORRA team will offer locally inspired hospitality starting with happy hour events, and concluding with dinner. If you have always wanted to bring your family, and friends to see what NORRA is all about, or want to get your feet wet racing in Baja, this is the event for you! Go to to find out how to join the fun!

###   "The Happiest Race On Earth!"   ###

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.

Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970's.

NORRA enjoys corporate partnerships with Yokohama Tire, Method Race Wheels, South Point Hotel & Casino, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, RIGID, STEEL-IT, Volcon, Slime, Optima Batteries, K&N, Satellite Phone, Biltwell, PCI Race Radios, Schampa, Nite Rider Offroad, Multitool USA, Stage V Media, B3KREATIV, Mag7 Pits, The Fab School, Cerveceria Transpeninsular, Horsepower Ranch, Baja Bush Pilots, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), and many more.
